As writers it is always important to keep our minds fresh with new ideas, creative thoughts and an idea of how to string a story together. One way to do this is by reading work by other people.  If you have come across a book that you thought was absolutely amazing and everyone who is anyone should read it, add it to the list. You could create a brief summary on a wiki page with the books details.

See this example as a guideline: RR.nameofbook
Please add RR for Recommended Reading followed by the book name.

Then add the wiki link along with a brief summary as follows:

Author : Mays, Billy
Book name : RR.The Power of Oxy Clean
Genre : Advertisment!

2005-07-21 [pixie_shimmer]: omg - is mine too long?

2005-07-21 [Font]: Ill move it to a wiki for you, tut tut can't read instructions :P

2005-07-21 [pixie_shimmer]: omg I did read - I was just being an individual... >_>

2006-01-24 [Kiddalee]: ***has alphabetized the list by book name*

2006-05-17 [Lady of Lore]: okies I'll put up several soon ^_^

2006-05-17 [Kiddalee]: YaY!

2006-07-20 [Calliope]: Err..Wheel of Time isn't really a trilogy is it

2006-07-20 [Kiddalee]: That's true... Maybe someone should ask [grushaj] about that. Except... he's inactive.

2006-07-28 [RiddleRose]: well... the hitchhikers guide is five books, but it's still a trilogy... perhaps we could think of WoT like that? *hopeful look* okay, maybe not.

2006-07-28 [Kiddalee]: Yeah, but the Hitchhiker's Guide is confusing by nature. And that's allowable because it's become a part of the joke. As for WoT, I don't know if the story's confusing because I've never read it, but I don't think the editor meant to make it any more confusing than an author might have. Anyways, it's not like we'll delete the whole review. We'll just get [grushaj] to change its name once we can get a hold of him.

2006-07-28 [RiddleRose]: true true... i have read them, and they are confusing, but not in the same way... more in a, "omg, how did this character get here??? what did i miss???" sort of way...

2007-09-30 [Font]: Could we maybe adapt a part of this and have a recommended reading each month to put on MP?

2007-10-01 [Kiddalee]: We could, if we didn't have to worry about running out of reviews. It's not every day someone reads a good enough book to recommend. Say, what if we link to one on the Community News, on months when not much else is going on?

2007-10-02 [Font]: People could also recommend writings here on WritersCo, but yes I agree there might not always be something good to read for a month, but it would be a good filler for MP on Community News.

2007-12-28 [Kiddalee]: Hey hey, banner!

2007-12-28 [Font]: I finally got a hold of the template ;)

2008-04-01 [Ash]: Cool, you re-organized it!

2008-04-06 [Kiddalee]: Yeah. I figured that some people might be interested in books recommended by the same person, so it would be handy if those of us who have submitted more than one review could have all our reviews close together.

2008-04-06 [Ash]: That's nice.

2009-06-11 [Zadius]: Hmm... I assume Riddlerose is American, as she's stated in her review of them that the first part of The Dark Materials Trilogy is "The Golden Compass". Granted, the film is also called that however if you were to seek the books here in good old Brittania where they were first published, you'd have to look for it under the original title which is in fact "Northern Lights". I suppose I'm just being pedantic, but they are amazing books and I'd hate for one of my fellow Brits to go searching for them and end up tearing their hair out because they simply couldn't find what they believed to be the first book of the trilogy.

2009-06-11 [Ash]: Yeah, there area a lot of Americans on here, I'm one for example but I've been editing writing for several people in the UK so whenever I type colour with the u the computer hates me.

2009-06-12 [Zadius]: Hahaha, that's brilliant Ash.

2009-06-12 [Ash]: It's so true, I do that very thing on other words as well and everytime I type a space afterward it goes red. I just want to slap my computer sometimes.

2009-06-12 [Ash]: Oh, I'll be re-arranging this page in a bit, just letting you know.

2009-06-12 [Ash]: You have your own section. :) I'll be writing up several reviews to post tomorrow so you don't feel all alone on this.

2009-06-12 [Zadius]: Hahaha, see I get that problem the other way round - what with an auto-British typeset... Okeypoke with the rearrangement, just give me a slap if I mess it up adding another RR or otherwise I dunno do you want me to just group my own together from now on like the other organised by author? Whatever's best just let me know and I'll endeavour to do it.

2009-06-12 [Zadius]: Hahaha, nevermind already done =D

2009-06-12 [Ash]: We do it alphabetically, so if someone says to check out a book, they can find it by titles or series title.

2009-06-12 [Zadius]: OK, got it. Well I'm off for the night anyway, I should of been at a poker game an hour ago, good luck with the movement and have a good night.

2009-06-12 [Ash]: You too, I'll speak tomorrow.

2009-06-13 [Zadius]: Fair do's Ash, you're working hard on this section then. I'll be putting up another one in a couple of days once I've finished reading 633 Squadron. By the way I'll have a look for The Belgariad Series as well, with the book titles as they are... are they chess related at all? If they are then it doesn't matter if there's "dry spots" I'll definitely read them haha!

2009-06-13 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: Alrighty, that's dos mas. I'll do more in a bit... because I'm mostly into series rather than stand alone books <.<

2009-06-13 [Ash]: i don't think they are Zadius, of course, I'm not much of a chess player. But they were the only reason I began writing, I read it back when I was tweleve and then bought the series, I still re-read it alot.

I like series too, I'll read a booka nd be like "Wait... it ends like that, seriously, where the next book? You've got to be kidding me..."

I've got six/seven more to post tomorrow. :)

2009-06-14 [Zadius]: Aww.... well then that kind of sucks =[
Pawn, Queen, Gambit, Castle, End Game... they're all chess pieces/terms, so you would of at least thought there was something chess-related within the books... well, haha I would anyway! Still as they're recommended by you I will definitely be on the lookout for them. If they're part of the reason you began to write, how come you didn't mention them in your contribution to "why I write"...? Maybe you did and I didn't notice though, God knows.
I like series too as well, but I wasn't that keen on free and for ;P hahaha....

2009-06-14 [Ash]: I put up why i keep on writing, keeping writing is a lot harder then starting.

2009-06-16 [Ash]: Tomorrow, this page is getting a make over, except for the banner. We can work with that. - Ash

2009-06-17 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: Ash... you don't need to sign your own posts <.<

Just a thought >.>...

2009-06-22 [RiddleRose]: [Zadius] hi! yes, i am american. and yeah, i know the original was the northern lights (and i think it's kind of stupid that they changed the title to publish in america, what's so much better about the golden compass?) but i think, and correct me if i'm wrong, that the majority of WC folks would recognize it as the golden compass, particularly now that the movie has the same name. (i have added the UK title to my review. :)

2009-06-22 [Ash]: I can sign my own posts if I want, it reaffirms that it's me. - Ash

2009-06-23 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: Never said you couldn't, just saying it's not necessary. Like the... what's that stupid organ... the appendix? The spleen? I forget. Something with a useless name that serves no known medical purpose <.<

It's one of those.

2009-06-23 [Ash]: Hiccups have no known medical purpose either... weird - ash

2010-11-22 [Ash]: I am retooling this page! Starting now!

2010-12-07 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: Retooling? =O What are that mean for I?

2010-12-08 [Ash]: When I get time, I'm going to put them A-G ect... onto separate wiki pages so this one isn't cluttered.

2011-03-02 [Akayume]: Hiccuping is a muscle spasm of the muscle that moves the lungs.

:P

2011-03-02 [Ash]: That is correct Akayume, but we don't know why it does it at certain points (such as eating too much).

Think they'd just put someone with hiccups under the MRI already and take some neurological shots.

2011-03-03 [Akayume]: They are annoying as hell though.

And can apparently trigger a heartattack. o.o

My grandpa had the hiccups for three straight days and had to go to the hospital.

2011-03-04 [Ash]: There was that girl who had hiccups for five years, they left in 2008 and a couple months ago she got busted shoplifting. You think having hiccups for five years you be humbled or wiser in a type of way, like it was a punishment.

2011-03-04 [Akayume]: Ofta. I would die, I'm sure.
